Mercedes: The world champions ended the day with more laps than anyone else, after a day of longs runs with the soft and the medium tires.
Ferrari: Just 6 laps less than Mercedes, they used for the most part the medium tire. We saw several long and consistent stints throughout the day as Sebastian Vettel racked laps and more laps to end the day as the driver with the most laps done AND beating the record for driver with the most laps done in a day of testing.
Renault: Started slow in the morning with The Hulk but in the afternoon Sainz did a huge amount of laps and even with 2 red flags difficulting things, they still did a race sim.
McLaren: Batteries fail in the morning, loss of hydraulic pressure in the afternoon, 3 break downs, 2 red flags. McLaren with a day to forget. They don't have Honda anymore but one thing is still the same, McLaren is the most unreliable car of the grid...
Toro Rosso: After a great 1st test expectations were high to see what the Italian team could do these week. But with only 54 laps done and no running in the afternoon Toro Rosso has problems for the first. But fear not Honda fans, the rumours suggest that the problem was suspension related and the Honda power unit is fine.
Renault power unit: Even though Renault and Red Bull did a good amount of laps the Renault power unit still seems to have some reliability issues with both the McLareb and the Red Bull stopping on track.
