nije pitanje šta je izjavio nego da li je uopće izjavio jer ni na jednom njemačkom i britanskom mediju ne postoji ta izjava, samo na dva hrvatska portala...a čisto sumnjam da su brawn i schumacher dali ekskluzivne izjave nekom hrvatskom mediju...tako da ovo treba uzeti s rezervom

Vijest koja i nije vijest jer se znalo da će voziti 3 godine. Tako da je 2012 bila sigurna. A i planovi su da bi to trebala biti godina top forme Mercedesa.
Živi bili pa vidli.

OK vjerovatno je dio ljudi ostao isti, samo pitanje na kojim pozicijama...
Ako su glavni dizajneri i ljudi zaduženi za razvoj bolida isti onda bojim se neće biti sreće ni iduće sezone...
Polažem nade u Browna da će mu 3 godine biti dovoljno da izrotira ljude, i dovede prave ljude, u pravo vrijeme na prave pozicije.

Iskreno, ukoliko se dovede Costa, mislim da bi on bio dobro riješenje, trenutačno na tržištu vjerovatno i najbolje koje se može dovesti

Mercedes boss Norbert Haug says Michael Schumacher still has the fire to succeed

Michael Schumacher, Mercedes, 2011Mercedes motorsport boss Norbert Haug insists "the fire is burning" in Michael Schumacher despite another difficult season for him.

Both the seven-time champion and the team have struggled for competitiveness this year, with the German car not proving quick enough to fight for podiums.

Schumacher has scored just 32 points in 11 races, but has made it clear he has no plans to leave the sport before next year.

Haug admitted Schumacher's qualifying form has not been great this year, but says his race performances show how hungry he still is.

"I think you could admit that in qualifying there is something missing, but his race performance this year, and I'm not speaking against Nico, but over the last five races the race pace was comparable, sometimes Michael is a bit quicker," Haug told AUTOSPORT.

"If you look at the overtaking statistics, Michael is leading, nobody has overtaken more than him. This is quite something, you could say. It'd be difficult for Vettel, starting at the front all the time.

"I think you saw some very calculated braking moves from him in Canada and he is relaxed, and sometimes too ambitious here and there. But he is very ambitious, not too ambitions, but he is ambitious and the fire is burning. Look in his eyes and you will see that."

The Mercedes boss also believes there is no real desire for Schumacher or Nico Rosberg to leave the team despite the failure to produce a winning race.

"Not at all," Haug said when asked if Mercedes was finding it hard to keep Schumacher and Rosberg. "We have a great relationship inside the team, the guys visit our factory and we know each other and tell each other no bu*****t."

He conceded no one in the team expected to have such a tough season.

He added: "If we had told you at our presentation 'well, wait and see, it's gonna end the year with fourth place', you would have said 'come on, this is sandbagging or whatever. This cannot be true'.

"So of course, we expected more, but can you be depressed afterwards? Of course you can, but we're aware of telling ourselves fairy tales, so we're working even harder, we have to have a disciplined approach to it, we have to take the right decisions, we need to understand the car...

"So I do not make announcements or noises, but we are working very hard and this is just the medicine for us that makes us work more and even harder."

Hello my tifosi chums.

You, more than anyone else in this crazy world we call F1, will be knowing what the situation is right now with a certain line of questions.
"Michael, are you going to retire?"
You know, if I had one euro for every time this question has been asked to me, I could have given it to the Greeks and they would have no debt problems. It was last year very similar.

There are three totally boring and most-asked questions in F1 and that is one of them. The second is "Do you think Lewis is a dangerous driver?" and the third is, "Eddie, is that your own hair?"

The answer to each is "no", "no" and "no".

I am also constantly being asked what I think about Sebastian, to which I always reply with a bit of a wink attached: "I think he's the best Swiss driver since Clay Regazzoni". Which reminds me. Quite honestly and obviously there is something to be investigated about Italian surnames in F1. Perhaps there is a genetic link as to why there are so many who don't come from Italy. Let me start a list for you:
Rubens Barrichello, not from Italy, from Brazil
Jerome D'Ambrosio, not from Italy, from Belgium
Paul DiResta, not from Italy, from Scotland, och aye
Daniel Ricciardo, not from Italy, from Australia, mate
Sebastien Buemi, not from Italy, from Switzerland
Jarno Trulli, not from Italy, from Planet Whiney

The last entry was, naturally, a joke, but you can see where I am pointing. Anyway, I am very much enjoying my summer break here at Schloss Schumi in Vufflens Le Chateau. It has given me time to reflect the season so far. Perhaps my two nemesis are doing the same. I am sure Kamui Kobayashi is doing something relaxing, like hurling himself down canyons in a damp suit. Vitaly Petrov is no doubt at a Black Sea resort gorging himself silly on beetroot-based snacks. Probably some insects, too.

Quite honestly and obviously and honestly and obviously my season would have been a lot better if they hadn't been in the way so much. But it is my own fault. I keep forgetting things. I wake up at night in the cold sweat screaming "Unlatch the paddle! Unlatch the paddle!"

There are so many buttons to press and it is always so difficult to remember what they do in the heating battle. Lieblings pudgie wudgie donut face says I can't remember to put the top back on the toothpaste tube at home so it's not surprising I fiddle with the wrong buttons when I have 'Banzai Boy' or 'Simples' breathing up my exhaust pipe.

My starts are going great. No problems there. It's just my finishes that are not going so well...And Laps 8 to 46 could also be a lot better.

Here is the typical race for me in 2011.
Qualify two places behind Nico, 0.2 seconds slower. Not so bad.
Good start, make up a few places
Change tyres the earliest on Lap 12
Emerge from pits behind Kobayashi who's going to Lap 27 on one set and my DRS wing isn't working. Stuck behind him, strategy disappearing down drain like a rat chasing a sausage.
Banzai Boy disappears and finally catch Petrov.
Lose front wing in excitement of catching up another car
Box for new wing.
Come out in front of leaders and have to slow down to be lapped
Lapped by Nico... who waves to me
Press all buttons on the steering wheel at once to try to get the car to break down
Car breaks down
Give my "cheery battler" smile and wave to crowd on way back to pits
Prepare excuses for interview with Lee McKenzie who will ask me, "So, Michael, how did it go...?"
I will hint at a problem from Lap 7, but make little of it
I then say I'm really looking forward to the next race.
And no, I am not retiring.

That is the first part of the season over, but already I am looking forward to the second part and my favourite circuit at Spa and the power of the Mercedes engine. With some nice improvements to the car we can make it to the podium in the next two races. I am certain of this. I just hope the improvement doesn't involve another button.

Until then my little Schumsters, have a great summer break and if you see any strange or fascinating insects while you are out in the hot sun, make sure to send them to Vitaly, but please, whatever you do, don't send him the brightly coloured ones as they are often poisonous...

Schumacher urged to stay in F1

Bernie Ecclestone has told Michael Schumacher that he should be a team principal when he decides to stop racing in Formula One.

As Schumacher prepares to celebrate 20 years in Formula One, Ecclestone, who was previously team boss at Brabham, says he doesn't see Schumacher retiring any time soon. However, when the time does come for him to look at his next move, Ecclestone believes his long career in the sport makes him an ideal candidate to become a team principal.

"I can not see Michael leaving Formula One until he believes that the team is not competitive and he really thinks it's time to go," Ecclestone is quoted by DPA. "[When he stops] he should run a team. With his experience and his talent, he would be first class."

Schumacher's current team principal Ross Brawn, however, says Schumacher should continue to focus on winning the world championship, and that it was down to Mercedes to provide him with the car to do so.

"Michael is a great driver," Brawn said. "But what is not seen and what also made him a multiple world champion is his work with the team behind the scenes. If we can give him a car with the potential to fight for the championship, then I have no doubt that he will be in a position to win his eighth title."

Ironično, upravo je u Jordanovoj momčadi po imenu 'Jordan Grand Prix' 1991. godine na stazi u Spa-Francorchampsu debitirao tada 22-godišnji Schumacher. Nastupio je tada anonimni Nijemac umjesto Bertranda Gachota koji je završio u zatvoru. Schumacher je nakon samo jedne odvožene utrke za Jordana otišao u Benetton, te je kasnije ispisao stranice povijesti.

Jordan danas radi kao stručni sukomentator za BBC, a Schumacheru, trenutno desetom u ukupnom poretku vozača s 32 osvojena boda, već je i ranije poručivao da se povuče u mirovinu. Nakon što je Schumacher objavio da će i sljedeće godine voziti u Formuli 1, Jordan je komentirao:
