Ako netko može razvijati bolid kroz sezonu i ako od nekoga mogu dobiti neke relevantne povratne informacije
što se tiče ponačanja bolida , onda je to Rubens. Da su kojim slučajem ove sezone vozili Pastor i Nico, mislim
da bi bolid ostao do kraja sezone onakav kakav su napravili preko zime. Pogledajte samo prošlu sezonu, prvu
Rubensovu u Williamsu, nakon dosta godina , bolid je postajao sve bolji i bolji kako je osmicala sezona.
Sjećate se vjerovatno da je prošla sezona počela katastrofalno, sve tamo, negdje to Montreala. Rubens je
vrlo točno i precizno objasnio u kojem smjeru treba razvijati bolid i na tome se poradilo. U drugom dijelu sezone
gotovo na svakoj trci su se plasirali u Q3. Nico je osvojio pole position, stjecajem sretnih okolnosti ali ga je
ipak osvojio. S druge strane, dok su vozili Rosberg i Nakajima, bolid je uglavnom bio dobar na početku sezone
dok bi onda postajao sve slabiji i nekonkurentniji. Nisam neki preveliki Rubensov fan, ali smatram da je u ovom
času on idealan vozač za Williams. Poziciju drugog vozača ne bi htio komentirati.

slažem se s tobom, da je 2009 bio sa Nicom Rubens, ili neki iskusniji vozač bila bi jako dobra sezona, tako da treba uvjek jedan iskusniji vozač

Još jedna propala trka,dali je u pitanju kvar,vozačka greška,ili nešto treće nezna se,ali vidi se da je izbor Coswortha kao dobavljača motora bio sasvim pogrešan izbor,kao i vozača,da ne kažem kojeg,a samo tjedan dana je sljdeči Gp,nesmijem ni pomisliti na rasplet događaja.

Da, šteta za Williams. Rubens jest super iskusan, no stvarno se ne primjećuje njegov doprinos. Lani poneki bljesak u sivilu prosječnosti; a ove godine tmina. Maldonado zasad nije pokazao ništa osim Chavezovih dinerosa koji su zamirisali sir Franku.

Možda bi mogli malo razmisliti i o poziciji Sama Michaela u momčadi.
Ja mu ne bi još puno kredita davao, vrijeme je da on počne pokazivati
zašto je na toj poziciji u momčani na kojoj je.

Koliko sam uspio saznati Rubens je imao problema sa hidraulikom,nakon promjene gume u prvom krugu,a Maldonadu je zatajio bolid,tako pise na njihovoj stranici.

Reports say Sam Michael’s Williams role in doubt
“Every aspect will be reviewed”

Sam Michael could be the victim of moves to restructure Williams, following a bad start to 2011 for the famous British team.

The FW33 was not quick or reliable in Melbourne and Sepang recently, moving chairman Adam Parr to announce a process to improve Oxfordshire-based Williams.

"We will be looking not only at how to address the short-term issues, we will be working together to strengthen the team for 2012 and beyond," he said.

"Every aspect will be reviewed, nothing is sacred, but we will do this methodically and not in a reactive way," added Parr.

Reports in Germany suggest that Williams’ current technical director Michael, an Australian, could be at the top of the list.

Motorsport-total.com said team shareholder Christian ’Toto’ Wolff - usually a behind-the-scenes influence - will attend the Chinese grand prix this weekend as Williams looks to restructure.

He said there are "five or six core issues" that need to be addressed, including "the human factor" and that fact that the move "from the founding generation to the next" has not been smooth.

It is believed Wolff’s comments are a reference to Michael, who took over in charge of Williams’ technical operations from team co-founder Patrick Head in 2004.
Williams still deciding on new exhaust

Williams will decide tomorrow whether or not to race a new exhaust system the team ran in free practice on Friday in China.

Rubens Barrichello, who ended the day 16th fastest, ran the exhaust on his car in the second session but the results of the test proved inconclusive.

"They seemed to lose a little bit of performance towards the end of the last session though which means we'll have to work hard to evaluate them properly," said the Brazilian. "We need to go through the data to see whether we will keep to this plan or go back to the original one."

The team's technical director Sam Michael added: "We had some issues with the new exhaust system we're running on Rubens' FW33 in the second session. We'll now review the data to decide whether or not to race it.

"That aside, we covered good mileage on the option tyre which has given us some solid data for the race. We will also fit new engines in both cars for tomorrow."

Barrichello's team-mate Pastor Maldonado reported himself happy with his first day's running on the Shanghai circuit.

"Today went well and we've learnt a lot," he said. "I did lots of miles which is useful because this is my first time at this circuit. The car felt good, especially on the long runs in P2. We don't know where the others are or what fuel they're running, but I think we're looking better here than we were in Malaysia."

A u međuvremenu smo i doznali da je Maldonado "donio" 15 miliona U$ zelembaca,skupo placeno mjesto.

The team experienced a more promising qualifying session in China today. Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado progressed through Q1, but a red flag in the final minutes of Q2 disrupted proceedings and interrupted both their flying laps. The subsequent procession of cars all then trying to set their quickest time in the one remaining lap precluded the AT&T Williams pair from any clear air to set a more competitive time. The team subsequently aborted both drivers’ runs in order to preserve the option tyre for tomorrow. As a result, Rubens will line up in P15 and Pastor in P17 for the race.

Sam Michael, Technical Director:
Although not reflected in our result this afternoon, the qualifying pace of the FW33 has improved. After testing the new exhaust system throughout practice, we decided we needed more understanding of it before using it in the race. We therefore reverted back to the standard exhaust system on Rubens’ car. Our target for tomorrow is reliability and to be in a position to fight for points.

Rubens Barrichello:
I’ve been having a weekend of experiments. We tried a new version of the exhaust in practice; we do not fully understand it yet, so we went into qualifying with our original set-up. I was happy with Q1 but then we had the rush hour! On the restart, Sutil tried to overtake me going into the first corner which spoiled both of our laps. We’ve made progress since Malaysia so I’m looking for points.

Pastor Maldonado:
I’m a bit disappointed by the red flag because the lap I was on at the time was looking good. We could have fought for a place in the top ten today so it looks like we’ve made some improvements with the car. We need to keep working and concentrate our minds for tomorrow. I’m looking for some points.

zanimljive su im zadnje rečenice, skoro iste svoj trojici. :D
dakle najavljuju bodove? hm, nebih rekao, iako naravno definitivno bih to volio, tužno je gledat ovako slab williams...

Jedini uvjet je da napokon zavrse trku,da vidimo sto moze i zna Maldonado,dosad to nije imao prilke pokazati zbog problema sa kvarovima,bilo bi ljepo da uđu u neke bodove,nisam pesimist,ali kako im je krenulo....

Ajd barem nesto,ipak su zvucali malo samouvjereno po pitanju bodova,nisu se bas previse pomakli po pitanju plasmana,bice bolje drugi puta.

Michael ready to review Williams role

Williams technical director Sam Michael says that changes 'will' be made to the organisation to turn around its disappointing start to the season - and he has not ruled out moving to a different role or leaving the outfit totally if that is what is needed.

The former title-winning outfit is enduring the worst start to a season in its Formula 1 history, with neither Rubens Barrichello nor Pastor Maldonado having scored a point in the first three races of the campaign.

And although the team is optimistic that a major upgrade package for the Turkish Grand Prix will improve its fortunes, Michael says that lessons from what has happened will be taken on board and an overhaul of its structure will take place over the next few weeks.

"I think the job that we have done this year clearly is not good enough," Michael told AUTOSPORT.

"There are lots of different reasons why. But either way, whatever team you are, I can easily see that where we are at the moment is not good enough and that falls down to me. So, we are currently reviewing that inside Williams – I am contributing to that and I am happy to do what the team wants me to do, to an extent.

"What I would not be happy with doing would be not changing anything – even myself. Even if everyone said everything is perfect, I know it is not. So, I am not happy with the job that we have done as a group. I would review that anyway – including myself. I don't exclude myself from any of that.

"I, as technical director, have chosen the technical team that works for me – the aero team, the design team, the operations group, the vehicle dynamics, the KERS guys. They are all people that I have chosen to put in those positions, so if it doesn't work then it is my responsibility. That is what we are in the middle of at the moment."

When asked if the comments about his own personal role meant he was eyeing a change of responsibilities, Michael said: "I don't know yet. We haven't really finalised that, and it will come down to what the team wants really. And myself as well – and what I think is best for the team.

"Obviously the team has to decide what it wants for itself and I will be part of that process, and then also I have to make a decision whether I think that is good for the team in terms of whatever I do."

He added: "We all have contracts and I have a contract until the end of this season anyway. So regardless of what happened – whether any restructuring meant that I left Williams or not, I would not leave Williams before the end of the year because I will stick to my contract.

"But in terms of going through that process, I am pretty open-minded at the moment. But open-minded to the extent that we have to make some big changes, because what we have got at the moment going on is not working and it needs change."

Although keen to push on with a restructuring – which could also extend to senior management and would likely involve not only a reshuffling of staff but also the possible recruitment from outside – Michael says he is actually upbeat about what the team has in the pipeline for the next few races.

"Things can change very quickly in this sport," he said. "You would never have thought at the last Barcelona test that McLaren were going to win a grand prix in the next month, and they have done.

"It is because there has been a big change of rules, and there are a lot of different designs out there in terms of exhaust systems and rear wings. As they gravitate towards each other over the next couple of races, it will make a difference. So I am pretty hopeful."

The Williams Cosworth FW33 proved itself reliable today allowing AT&T Williams drivers, Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado a clean Chinese Grand Prix. Rubens drove a consistent two-stop race from 15th on the grid to finish 13th. Pastor opted for a three-stop strategy and delivered a solid performance throughout the 56 laps. In a race which saw only one retirement from a field of 24 cars, Pastor crossed the line in 18th place to complete his first full race distance in Formula One. The team now returns to Grove with lessons learnt from the opening three flyaways from which to develop the cars in time for the first round of the European season in Turkey on 6th May.

Sam Michael, Technical Director:
There is nothing satisfying about finishing out of the points. Reliability-wise, however, it was positive to get both cars to the finish. There were stages during the race when our performance was respectable so we need to focus on those areas and improve our qualifying pace. We have some sound upgrades planned for Istanbul and we will be concentrating our efforts on those.

Rubens Barrichello:
We opted for a two-stop strategy today, others did three, but I don’t think that made a difference. The car isn’t performing as well as it should. I am going to work hard to help the team improve it. I need this car to be performing better and I know we can make it happen.

Pastor Maldonado:
I’m pleased that we finished the race because we now have more data to analyse how the FW33 is working over a race distance which we haven’t had to date. My car felt ok, but we need to find more speed and improve our performance. We have a long gap between now and Turkey to look over the data and make improvements.

Odu Sam Michael i Jon Tomlinson.
Nadam se da će Coughlan biti bar za nijansu uspješniji od ove dvojice.

Bilo je krajnje vrjeme da dođu neke promjene, a valjda će ić na bolje iduće sezone

Nadamo se da bude bolje,i sa Supertec motorima su bili uspjesniji nego kaj su sad sa Coswortom.

Coughlan je prije dolaska u momčad iz Grovea radio u Lotusu, Tyrellu, Ferrariju, Arrowsu i McLarenu, koji ga je 2007. godine suspendirao zbog umiješanosti u spygate aferi, u kojoj je povjerljive tehničke nacrte McLarenovog bolida predao Nigelu Stepneyu iz Ferrarija."

Malo smo pomiješali lončiće.
Biti drugi znači biti prvi među gubitnicima. Ayrton Senna.

Još jednom su se Frankovi momci "proslavili",a Maldonado posebno,u jednom danu slupa 2 bolida,za to je talentiran,dok na treninzima i u trci ne pokazuje ništa,kvalifikacije ne želim ni komentirati,ukratko rečeno klasika,ali Sam Michael je opet optimistićan da ne kažem samouvjeren:

We're heading in the right direction, thanks to a lot of hard work in the factory. Rubens starts the race in P11, and with new tyres, and Pastor in P14. The day wasn't without issue, however, as we had to revert to the standard rear wing on both cars after signs of aerodynamic separation on the new version in practice. That cost us some top speed. In addition, Pastor’s KERS wasn’t working, which lost him a couple of places on the grid. These are not excuses but rather that with these issues resolved, we have cause for optimism. Our target now is to get both cars in the points.

Ljepo je da je i Williams usao u neki bod,a moglo je vise,da nije bilo Hamiltona i njegovog izguravanja Maldonada koji je jako dobro vozio,i za to je Levis kaznjen samo oduzimanjem od vremena,bas mu i nisu naskodili a Maldonadu to i nije neka narocita utjeha,dobija se utisak da idu Hamitonu na ruku,favoriziranje.
