“The effort that has been made has improved the grip, so better performance. While several have complained about the level of tire wear of the Pirelli compound this week, few found some logical explanations for it. Michael Schumacher was the first to point out the inconsistency of the tires, as he admitted having experienced some strange track time on Pirelli rubber.

“Of the compounds available, some were more consistent than others. I had some awkward moments on the track when I was on tires that I had not been on for long. It was like driving on ice,” said Schumacher in a recent interview with Germany's Auto Motor und Sport. “I think they are still in the testing phase and that they will deal with the situation well,” he added.

čudno...a do sada je opravdanje za šikanu bilo da nema dovoljno mjesta za zonu izlijetanja na tako brzom dijelu pa da je to napravljeno da bi se bolidi usporili (iako je u prvotnim planovima trebao biti lijevi zavoj Charlie i FIA su tražili šikanu)

Je, tak bi svi htjeli, ali je jedino Pirelli pristal na ove uvjete. Ostali nisu htjeli da takvo dogovoreno jako trošenje guma utječe na njihovu lošu reputaciju na tržištu.

Bahrain Grand Prix to switch to night Formula 1 race in 2014[source: autosport]

The Bahrain Grand Prix is to switch to a night race next year, with the circuit set to confirm the news in the next few days.

AUTOSPORT revealed earlier this year that the Sakhir venue was considering a Formula 1 night race to celebrate the event's 10th anniversary.

It appears that those plans have moved forward with circuit chairman Zayed Al Zayani revealing at Monza that an announcement is imminent.

There had been some suggestions that Bahrain could become the 2014 season opener, but Zayani asked Bernie Ecclestone to move the race back in the schedule so it could work on the upgrades needed for the night race.

Bahrain hopes to finish the lighting project at the end of February, and a provisional date handed to it originally of March 2 was deemed too close for it to get everything ready.

"We requested from Bernie not to be the first grand prix of the year because we are undergoing a major refurbishment of our track to commemorate the 10th anniversary," Al Zayani told AUTOSPORT.

"We didn't want to be squeezed for time."

When asked what the upgrades were, Al Zayani said: "There are many things, but the highlight will be a night race."

Zayani added that Bahrain is still considering whether or not to have a full-on night race or a twilight event like Abu Dhabi. The race will therefore start at either 5pm or 6pm local time.

New formula for Singapore Sling at the 2013 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and Singapore GP will be reconfiguring Turn 10 (Singapore Sling) ahead of the 2013 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX, so that cars will now negotiate a flowing left-hander before accelerating towards the Anderson Bridge.

Based on simulations conducted by the FIA, the speed of cars approaching the realigned Turn 10 can be expected to increase by up to 40km/h. As an added safety measure, an extra layer of TecPro barriers will line the end of the run-off.

Sections of the track to be resurfaced

Some sections of the Marina Bay Street Circuit will undergo minor resurfacing as a result of use by daily traffic. These include: the first three turns, Esplanade Drive, Turn 5 and Turn 8. The Pit Lane will also be resurfaced as some ground settlement has been observed.

hahahahahah to će bit smijeh, nešto kao štafeta doć će vozač do boksa i brzo sjest u drugi. Zanima me kako sigurno ce to bit
