Robert 7, a Nick 12 u kvalifikacijama. Očekivao sam da će obojica bit među prvih 6, da je BMW smanjio zaostatak za Ferrarijem i McLarenom, a zaostatak se još i povećao, a druge momčadi poput Red Bulla su se gotovo izjednačile s BMW-om po brzini. Nije dobro, mislim da su prerano započeli s razvojem bolida za iduću sezonu i lagano zapostavili ovogodišnji bolid. Slično kao i Williams. Nadam se da će na utrci i Nick i Robert doći do bodova.

Bolid ih zajebava Theissen je izjavio da obojica nisu zadovoljna s bolidom.M Power je napisao/la:Robert 7, a Nick 12 u kvalifikacijama. Očekivao sam da će obojica bit među prvih 6, da je BMW smanjio zaostatak za Ferrarijem i McLarenom, a zaostatak se još i povećao, a druge momčadi poput Red Bulla su se gotovo izjednačile s BMW-om po brzini. “Nije bilo jednostavno, i moglo je biti bolje, ali ako pogledamo naš tempo, ova(sedma) pozicija i nije tako loša. Imali smo mnogo problema cijeli vikend,” rekao je Kubica.
Heidfeld:
“12. pozicija je razočaravajuća. Tijekom moje prve vožnje u Q2 imao sam nekoliko problema u posljednjem sektoru. Tada su počele granulacije na gumama izazvane proklizavanjem bolida,” dodao je Heidfeld.
“Poslije Parabolike sam kasno kočio, kotači su zablokirali, i to je bilo to. Sada ću se boriti za bodove u utrci, što je minimalni cilj.”
“Imamo dobru strategiju, a pretjecanja su moguća.”

Robert je imao jučer problema s drugim setom guma. Nisu mu funkcionirale jednako dobro, kao one s mekšom komponentom. Gume su mu se ohladile i imao je problema s gripom. Ima slične probleme kakve je imao Nick u prvom dijelu sezone. Nadam se da će otkloiniti te poteškoće i da će obojica moći ponovno biti konkurentni McLarenu i Ferrariju.
Nick Heidfeld just missed a podium position at the German Grand Prix. The German BMW Sauber F1 Team driver, who started from 12th, set the fastest race lap and finished fourth. Robert Kubica finished seventh, which was the same position he started from.
Nick Heidfeld: "Coming fourth from 12th on the grid is a great result. Not making it into the top ten in qualifying meant we were free to choose our fuel load afterwards, and so we went for a rather long first stint. That's why I was able to stay out during the safety car period when almost everybody else was refuelling. That was certainly crucial as I was able to pull away as soon as the traffic was behind me. Before that I couldn't show my true speed as I never had a clear lap. The car was good and the fact that I set the fastest race lap proves it. In the end I was very close to Felipe, but still had no chance to overtake him. It was a good home race for me and I'm happy I could give something back to the fans who may have been disappointed by my qualifying performance yesterday."
Robert Kubica: "It is difficult to be happy after a race like this. During the first half of the race I was able to match the pace of McLaren-Mercedes and Ferrari. Suddenly my car's pace was miles too slow. My tyres lost lots of grip, and perhaps this was because my tyres cooled down too much. We now have to analyse the data."
Mario Theissen (BMW Motorsport Director): "If you start from seventh and 12th on the grid and end up collecting seven points you can be very satisfied. Of course the safety car period influenced the race quite a lot. Due to that Robert lost his strong fourth place, whereas Nick profited from this. Neither of our drivers made any mistakes. On top of that Nick set the fastest lap, which makes me very happy for him. However, there is some work for us to do to get back to the front of the grid."
Willy Rampf (Technical Director): "This was an exciting and thrilling race for our team! Robert made a good start and was able to move up to fourth in the first corners. He was able to consolidate this position, but in the safety car period his strategy meant we had to bring him in for a pit stop. Nick was on a higher fuel load and, therefore, could stay out. When the Safety Car came in again, Nick drove several very fast laps and was able to make up time on his direct competitors. In addition, the pit crew did a perfect job which enabled him to also overtake Heikki Kovalainen in the pits. Robert was struggling with the heavy car and warming up the prime tyres properly, so as a result was not in a position to set the best possible lap times anymore. We can be pleased we scored seven championship points today under difficult circumstances."

Heidfeld zadovoljan oporavkom forme

BMW Sauberov vozač Nick Heidfeld misli da mu nastupi još uvijek nisu dobri u mjeri u kojoj mogu biti, ali zadovoljan je napretkom kojeg bilježi od početka sezone.
"Forma mi još uvijek nije ni blizu lanjske, ali postaje sve bolja." rekao je Heidfeld britanskom magazinu Autosport. "Na posljednjim sam kvalifikacijama napravio neke pogreške, ali stvari nisu bile kao prije samo dvije utrke kada sam bio prespor i kada pojma nisam imao do čega bi to moglo biti."
"Znao sam da sam mogao proći Q2, ali zabrljao sam stvari u dva zavoja. Mislim da sada idem u pravom smjeru, a sve me to čini vrlo sretnim."
"Mislim da je test u Barceloni za mene bio najvažniji trenutak godine. Pokušavao sam isprobati nekoliko novih stvari i solucija."
"Nakon toga, naravno, slijedi još finog brušenja i još uvijek učim. Još je nekoliko stvari na koje trebam obratiti pažnju prije nego što mi postanu dio prirodnog ponašanja."
"Ono što me čini još zadovoljnijim je to da sam i u trenucima u kojima sam se najviše mučio uspijevao maksimizirati potencijal kojeg sam tada imao. Nisam rekao da je bolid sranje i odbacio ga, nego sam ga prihvatio i uspijevao izvući najviše brzine što sam mogao."
Heidfeld kaže da mu oporavak forme neće utjecati na pregovore koje trenutno vodi za novi ugovor, ali smatra da mu situacija u vozačkom prvenstvu dokazuje da radi dobar posao.
"Ništa neće biti drugačije, no o pitanjima ugovora sada ne mogu razgovarati." objasnio je.
"Ali, mislim da netko poput mene koji je sve do sada imao očitih problema i tko je samo 12 bodova za vodećim u prvenstvu, a samo 7 bodova za Robertom, a za kojeg se govorilo da će biti najbolji vozač ove godine, i nije tako loš."

Mehaničar je preko noći ostao u bolnici jer se požalio na vrtoglavicu. Sa strujom nema šale, stoga je jučerašnji incident jako opasan.bmw_sauber_f1 je napisao/la:Dobro je pa nije nista strasnije bilo.

On the second day of testing in Jerez de la Frontera, Christian Klien again took to the track for the BMW Sauber F1 Team. The Austrian covered 89 laps on the 4.428 kilometre "Circuit de Jerez", experiencing a trouble-free session.
Weather conditions on the second day of testing were sunny, with the temperatures reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius. Christian covered a total of 408 kilometres on the Spanish track. His fastest lap was recorded at 1:20.850 minutes. Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel (1:18.843 minutes) proved to be the fastest driver of the session.
Christian Klien today concentrated on development work with the BMW Sauber F1.08 car. He tried different mechanical and aerodynamical solutions not only for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix but for the near future as well. Completing 408 km (89 laps) without any problems the Austrian also helped the engineers to collect more data on the standard ECU.
The mechanic who was involved in the KERS incident yesterday underwent additional medical tests in the Jerez hospital last night and today. He was subsequently released by the doctors who were happy with the results of their tests. The mechanic is on his way back to Switzerland this evening.
Tomorrow Nick Heidfeld will take over testing duties. On the schedule are tyre testing and work on the F1.08 car's setup for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix.

Danas je Nick testirao slick gume, i neki aero paket za budućnost. Sutra isto on testira ali gume i set up za Mađarsku.

Heidfeld vjeruje da KERS može biti siguran i u trkaćoj primjeni

Nick Heidfeld je rekao da je uvjeren da će BMW Sauber riješiti sigurnosne probleme na KERS-u, koji je na prošlotjednim testiranjima u Jerezu izazvao dramu.
Podsjetimo, jedan od BMW-ovih mehaničara je dodirnuo Klienov bolid opremljen KERS-om, nakon čega je doživio strujni udar. Mehaničar je prošao bez ozbiljnih tjelesnih povreda, no pitanja o sigurnosti KERS-a ponovno su aktualizirana.
"KERS je, jasno, sasvim nov. Mislim da smo mi jedni od prvih koji su ga koristili i na stazi." rekao je Heidfeld.

Ma kakva ljutnja, neznam, Nick je očito siguran u to, samo moraju naći sigurnost, kakvu mi imamo i ovim''običnim'' autima.
